I am 12 years old and I live in New York state.In New York you cannot hunt deer with a firearm unless you are 16 and cannot hunt deer with a bow unless your 14.Who thinks deer hunting should start a younger age?

I do! I think that you should be able to hunt when you canshoot your weapon of choice, bow/gunaccurately. IMO

In New York you can hunt small game at 12.

I think it should be a tad younger but i understand why they age limits. It protects the deer from being shot and running off and dieing very slowly or not dieing at all because of a bad shot from a 5 year old.

I'm inclined to favor letting parents decide. My problem with that is some misgivings about the actual knowledge and sense of responsibility of many parents.

i agree with daddyslittlegirl and if i was into hunting alongtime ago i would have gotten into it but this is my first year and i am loving it so far
