Default can i handle it?

just got my first moose this season with my 30-30 single shot. Anywho My 30-30 seemed to lack knockdownpower and 4 my second moose i want to take a bigger caliber. My dad this year wants to try me with a 308 semi, but im only 14 and weigh 80lbs. anyone think ill be able to shoot this gun comfortably? thanx.........

I think that maybe a little too much for yah i think a 30.06 or a 7mm would be just enough for you, more kick then a 30-30 but put the right recoil pad on you should be good to go but i guess the same could be said about the 308 but the best thing to do is if you can test it oout before you fully commit to one.

Go with a 30-06, One of the best all around calibers out there to kill pretty much any north american big game.

i agree with the 30-06. .308 is kinda a big caliber specially for your size

Guys a 30-06 kicks more than a .308. For one look at the cartiage

neither the 30-06 or 308 kick hard. I have both calibers. The 30-06 shoots flatter while the 308 has been known to open the groups while taking longer shots. 30-06 is the way to go due to the ammo being readily available and cheap.
