RE: Alfalfa
I wouldn't do it. I have wasted a lot of time and money on food plots, test plots, and short cuts. Why plant it and not be satisfied with the results? Prepare your soil, get your ph up, plant at the right time and pray for rain. I always thought this stuff was a snap until I really got into it. You will not be happy with diminished results. terry

RE: Alfalfa
planting alfalfa is not a waste of time you should get a soil anaysis done first to see how much of lime and fertilizer you will be needing. you should try to use a mixture, alfalfa has a tap root system so it will not hold the soil together well without some help. tyr using some type of grass into your plot with a fiberous roots system will save your soil and also help in your stand. i live on a farm and we farm around 2500 acres and alfalfa is a deer magnet. but you will have to just take your time and not hurry through the process. good luck.
