A little help with food plots
I have some old fields that have alder bushs in them and are starting to grow up, it the spring I plan to plow it all up and plant some food plots. I plan to plant some white clover some winter wheat, stubble turnip. what else is good to plant to draw in deer. the area I have to plant is about 1 1/2 acres. It is well drained, and gets alot of light. and we plan to fertilize too, Thank you

If your area is well drained the white clover most likely will not do well. You will need to do some rotation planting of rye and buckwheat for a few years to build the humus. I would suggest that you do a soil sample and lime... Alfalfa would most likely be a better crop.

Wannabe I agree with DanO you may want to leave some edge cover. We have alot of over grown pastures on our property in N.Y. and the deer use this cover to their advantage traveling to and from our food plots. Many times we jump bedded deer from these brush lots.
