Default need a seed that grows n sunny/shady area

my plot n the woods has become overgrown with trees becoming thicker at the tops! not a bunch of sunlight is reaching the ground now. I would still like to plant something though, any suggestions?

I would get out the chainsaw. If it is land you don't own ask the landowners if you can cut out a lot of the limbs and let some sunlight in.

rye grass...grows in the shade..needs water and roughly 70f temps to germinate..can just put it on top of the ground too, no tillin and such..maybe some 13-13-13 after it takes a bit.
