whitetail institute 30-06 is the only minerals we've been using for a few years now. the deer use them most from apr. thru july but they do start visiting them in jan.

well, the fact that you have so many licks could in turn mean that the deer use them simply because they arent out of the way to get to, vs one or two locations ...looks like you have ALOT of deer tho.

Pike,

Looks like a lot of deer and bucks on your property. Very nice pics. I will say the feed you use probably helps a lot plus some of those pics are just deer passing by without using the licks. Just my 2 cents.

blacktail those are just the first pic. of each mineral site that I came across. From April until about Oct. ( the time frame a deer's body needs more salt in their daily diet) the minerals draw far more deer in then the feed then the feed works better until April.
Here is a link to my 2009 trailcam photo album as you will see plenty of deer deer hitting the minerals/salt etc. Also for most bucks I only saved one pic. regardless of whether or not it was in the process of using the mineral block/lick etc (start on page # 16 and work your way to page # 1.) Pike

Or it could be that after all the scenario's you could come up with, the scenario that generic 50lb mineral/salt blocks/bags work just as good or even better than the more expensive commercial mineral supplements with the huge buck on the front of the package or the more expensive and time consuming homemade recipe's.
