Default New Plot??????

What are some of the best plants to put into a food plot right now....i want it to be used for both oct. 3 bow season opener and i want something in the plot that will last heavy browse all the way up to december (rifle season)....

any thoughts would be appreciated

If you have your soil right, oats are hard to beat for a fall shootem up plot.

If you throw 5 lbs of inoculated ladino clover in with it you will have a good stand next year with barely any work.

Another vote for oats, Buck Forage Oats, with clover. I would go ahead and do a soil test and apply lime as needed as soon as you can.

Winter rye would be another good choice. It puts on a lot of growth in the fall for our northern climates.
