Default Help?

Ok heres my deal.... Ive read quite a few articles about food plots, and hunting whitetail over water... I have a crick that runs through our property but is covered over my thick brush... What I was thinking about doing is cutting some of the brush down and digging a pond... First question - Do you think this could be a good idea? Second question - Should I plant clover or some other type of food around the pond? And lastly, if I did plant food, how would I keep the cows out!? Thanks for the help.

With a creek already running through your land, digging a pond may help the cows, but the deer probably utilize the creek for water. It may be a waste of time and money.
the food plot would be a real good idea. As for keeping the cows out? Use the method you do to keep them in the pasture, Put a fence around the food plot. The deer will simply jump it. No problem.

Not sure about your state, but in Florida any work (clearing) withing 35 feet of a stream or creek is illegal.

If the creek dries out for part of the year it would help. It also improves your habitat for waterfowl and fish (trout - bass). If you cut brush try to keep the deer runs continuous. If you take away all of their cover on a main run they may relocate.
