i hunt in the hill country of southern ohio, im wondering what would be the best seed for winter plots, i really like some of the whitetail institute products. anybody hunt in ohio or have recommendations on what they grow? we already planted some plots for this summer and fall but i want something for the winter.

Lots of choices. BFO, any kind of winter greens, turnips. I like to plant a bunch of different things if I can.

reds, we hunt the hill country of SE. OH. and the last 4 or 5 years have been planting 30 acres of BFO's, winter wheat and rye and the deer use it all winter and even spring.
I going to try 2-3 acres of turnips this year to see how the deer like it aswell. Pike

Another vote for the Buck Forage Oats, mixed 50#/40# with winter wheat.

We've had good success using brassicas, bfo and standing corn/soybean mix for winter plots and the deer will flock to 'em all.
