Default Buckwheat??

Alright so we know have 2 20 acre corn fields, 2 5 acre clover fields, 5 10 acrecrp fields, 2 2 acre bio-logic lablab fields, and my Dad just put in another small plot by one of our treestands with buckwheat. A Guy He knows told Him buckwheat was really good for Deer. I was wondering if You guys knew if Deer liked it, and when do they eat it best? Like summer, fall, winter? I don't know much about it at all so any info would be great. Thanks.

Default RE: Buckwheat??

deer do eat it during its growing stage. it also works as a ground builder. when it heads out disc it back in the ground to raise the P and K in the soil.
