I planted some type of clover and I can't remember which but that did pretty good and it is still growing. I plant more Turnips and oats. The oats they hit all fall long and the turnips not until late season.I wouldn't bother with the high dollar seeds plant stuff that you can buy at the local store. Soy beans work good also.

All the biologic products have some merit. The mixes are of the right %blends and the seeds are generally good quality. I've been happy with the Biologic products I've tried. However, I don't know about the specific blends you mentioned.

As far as expense - lets just say the CHEAPEST part of most any plot is the seed. Even if you go out and spend Top Dollar on a High Profile Premium Blend - for the most part - we are talking about $25.00 - $50.00 per acre for the seed. Your gas, fertilizer and probably lime, your herbicide spray not to mention your time - will cost you more than the seed - then you still have pay to maintain the plot.

For advice - I tell people to go with a good quality seed - whether its a local seed from the co-op or from Imperial Whitetail, Biologic, etc -and read and follow the planting directions. Make sure you prepare the plot as told prior to seeding and know your soil requirements.

Farm Hunter is right,I just prefer to plant what they like to eat in my area. The deer in your area might love the stuff you just have to try and find the right mix that works for you.
