It is not often the type of mineral put out, it isthe location. I used to put out Deer Cocaine (I think that is what it was called) and a few cheaper versions of a mineral block come Aprilnearestthe water source. Then come fall I move them towards the field edges.

Never tried the throw and grow seed. Sorry.

If you'll do a search on "recipe"....you'll find a mineral recipe that has been posted. I can't remember the ingredients.....so I printed them out.

I put mine out about 4-6 times a year. In nature....the deer get it from the earth....and that's how I do mine. I mix it in with the dirt. They're hitting mine right now, hard.

Im putting out some 30-06 this weekend that i purchased from the whitetail institute. I called up a sales rep there and he was very helpful. I explained the property that i had, soil type, no access to tilling equipment, what i wanted to achieve and some other info and he suggested what he thought would work best. Im going to be planting Whitetail Institute No-plow and Chic-magnet. The No-plow supposedly onlyneeds seed to soil contact which means i only have to scratch up the soil and it should grow. The man also said that the chic magnet is extremely hardy and doesnt take much preparation to grow and it should last anywhere from 3-5 years. Like i mentioned earlier i also got 30-06 mineral which i just mix into the ground. All three only cose me 85 bucks so if it doesnt work i wont be too pissed, but the rep seemed very confident that not only would it grow, but the deer would love it too. Time will tell.

I have heard that they are not 100% sure thats how it spreads. How knows it could be an STD we need deer condoms. Or go with the PETA****** and shoot them with Birth control eliminating their sex drive(stupid idea PETA is so funny sometimes) My favorite story is a few years back when they put blaze orange on the deer. Trying to make the hunt more difficult. I think it would be easier a hunting can tell teh difference and it would make seeing the deer easier to see. Plus hunting shopes put bounties on thoes deer haha PETA-People eating tasty animals.

EDIT - Please refrain from using profanity. Thanks.
