WVA Food plots
I am thinking of putting in a some food plots on about 90 acres of land in central W.VA. This land is mostly hills with some flat spots and several old logging road that cut through it. I am looking for information on what has worked for other people in this area. Also this area is only accessible by foot or ATV. I am looking for solutions that will require minimal working of the land (preferably no till). I am in the process of getting a soil test. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

RE: WVA Food plots
We're located in WV as well and have been experimenting with food plots for several years. We've been showing what we have been up to on our website listed below. The no-plow stuff is tough as is shaded ground. It's almost always better if you can prepare the ground it some way even if it's just by killing the vegitation with Round-Up before you plant. You'll learn a lot when you get started.

RE: WVA Food plots
im also in central/south central WV.......
ive seen alot of success by just planting the old logging roads with a good perrenial clover. if the soil is bare you may have good success with jsut adding lime and then frost seeding the clover this winter.
