Default SEED?

I called the local seed store the other day to see if they had any oats and wheat, to plant for a food plot. I was told they had feed oats, planting oats, and feed wheat. I would like to know the difference between feed oats and planting oats. And since they only had feed wheat, would they come up if planted in a food plot?

Default RE: SEED?

Feed wheat will germinate, it just hasn't been certified as a certain percentage of good seed. Some oats have been proven to be preferred by deer, and IMHO they are worth the extra money. I'm talking about the Buck Forage Oats. They run about $20 a 50# sack. On one of the clubs I belong to we are going to plant nothing but Buck Forage Oats in all the food plots.
