y'all is killing me!
What i did is look at one in a catalog like northern tool and let my imagination run. just kind of try and duplicate the ones that cost 200 dollars.
you know my insurance man came by the house this afternoon and asked about my creations ie deer feeders , stands like my super leaner, 4x4 platform w/ roof , bench seat, oh yeah the roof and shooting rail are removeable. tree stand carrier for my atv, atv floorboards, stick ladders, the cage i'm building for my tractor, and yep the spreader. he said "why don't you make this stuff and sale it" i replied i had sold some feeders but it takes the fun out of seeing if i can make it. i could use the money i guess but i ain't hurting that bad.
I will draw (uh i ain't that good at that)the spreader but it may be a little while with hunting season here and all. my neck is swelling and creating and drawing are low on the list. this thing (computer) seems to get higher priority than it's worth for some reason?
And lawnfarmer you hurt me with that statement that i might have been fuzzy oh wait your fuzzy with my description soooooo my description was fuzzy? and after i worked so hard on it.
maybe you could help figure out how to make this herbacide applicator. you know a boom made out of PVC, with a wick of sorts that soaks up the round up to kill weeds. now how might i make a supply tank for the boom and how do i install the wick and seal it to keep the liquid from just pouring out? and what do i use for wick?
oh well i'll get to you guys sometime . everybody wants my time . (you ever have that feeling?)

Reb, still pretty fuzzy, I told you I was a doer not a thinker. With all the stuff you invent they must call you Old Reb Edison.
Here's what I'd do. Figure out how long you want the boom. Pvc. Put a Tee in the center and cap the ends. Drill 1/16 in holes in the pvc approx. equally spaced. Wire tie felt or some kind of absorbant material to the pvc. Could be stapled at the seam. Come off the Tee with a valve ( pvc ball valve ). This should regulate the flow. Go from the valve to the tank (drum, bucket,or whatever container)with a piece of hose. Flexible so you can move the boom up or down as reguired. You can figger out how to raise and lower it, I have to eat lunch and go to work. Should be easy for you. terry

Hey lawnfarmer that was kind of what i was thinking. i would like a boom about 8' , equally spaced on each side of my atv. i think you can buy like cotton wick ,you know for laterns. it would asborb the liquid and would contact the weed. now i could seal the holes with silicone so only the wick absorbs the liquid. and the tee could be increased into a four inch piece of PVC . to hold extra liquid and you can buy the screw on caps for them. i just want the weeds to contact the poison so the wick would work great i think.
i can use my old trusty tree stand carrier for a mount. now to fold it? i must go to lowes and shop!
if my in laws come this weekend i will see if i can use his dig. camera and download to send you of the spreader. they are not sure if they are coming ( putting the crimp on my hunting plans!). i don't think i can build one of those cameras.
i can't say what i have been called on here.
But it wasn't edison!

Hey Reb, I would settle for a rough sketch on a paper napkin. Draw out the spreader and throw in the wick thing for good measure so I can see what you've come up with. I will be forever grateful and will make you a legend in the state of Michigan. Go Lions. and take the Tigers with you. No hurry, we have all winter.

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quotequote:
The wick your talkin about for those booms are a special material. Most fertalizer supplie/sprayer companys sell them. I know
farm and fleet have them if ya have one of those stores and I think tractor and supplie may have them also. It's like a special
type of rope it's real cheap. It doesn'tr drip like a normaly rope or clother would. hope this helps Hunter4ever01

Thanks i had no clue what to use. i will look around for it. i have to go get some welding wire tomorrow and will stop at the farm supply store.

I used a disc pulled behind a fourwheeler.
It works very well for those hard to get to
places. I sold my fourwheeler but i still have
the disc. Will sell it for $100
