Apples tree not cutting it....
#3
Seems like apple trees go in cycles. For a few years the production will be sparce then better then a bumper crop for a year or two. We had a late frost here this year that froze a lot of buds off some of the apple trees. This is definitely a down year for apples trees around here.

The two best things you can do are pruning and fertilizing. Look around on the internet for some good info. on pruning. Most sites also have diagrams, which are very helpful. As far as fertilizing use a high phosphorous fertilizer such as 10-20-10 or the like. The middle number should be 20 or higher. Fertilize in the spring of the year just after last frost. This will help produce more blooms and bigger fruit.

If you've never had good crops you may need pollinizer trees near your tree. Do you have trees of another variety close by that bloom at the same time?
