Getting ready to seed soon!
I need a little help from you fellas. I have 5 plots all about 1/4 acre in size. I have bought buck forage oats, wheat, turnips, and kale to plant. would you plant each plot with a different forage or plant all plots with a mixture of what I have purchased? If you plant the mixture, how many lbs of each would you apply per 1/4 acre plot? thanks for the help.

RE: Getting ready to seed soon!
I planted mine individually, first my turnips, then rape, then clover, then plotshot, and then biologic. I did it to see which one they hit the hardest, my plots are very small in an old garden site behind the house, over at a neighbors woods where I normally hunt I mixed clover and plotshot in the woods, hopefully it will get enough sunlight to produce something......

If that is what you want to plant .... plant the turnips, and kale now so they have time to grow before hunting season. For your wheat and oats, you may want to hold off for a few weeks yet. Down there you have more growing time than up here.
I just did 0.85 acre yesterday with 50 lb winter wheat, 50 lb oats, and 10 lbs dutch/ladino clover. Wheat and oats are utilized this fall, oats die over winter, wheat is utilized in spring, and the clover is left in the field for a good two years.
