Default Deer still have antlers on 2/25

I saw 5 deer today.
1 heavy beamed 8 point, and a little bitty forkhorn.
Both with headgear still on.

The other 3 were either does or had lost their racks already.
Couldn't tell which since I left the binocs at home.

I watched 3 bucks cross a hill yesterday (N.E. Iowa). They were little 6 pointers & all had one antler.

Thats wierd. I havent even seen the first deer here in Iraq. I guess that's normal though. But the good news is I leave headed home on the 3rd of March. Hopefully all the Alabama deer will have dropped theirs when I get home, that way I'll have an excuse to get in the woods. I'll be able to tell the wife I'm going shed hunting.

I've seen them in early April with antlers still intact.

There must be no rhyme or reason, because my neighbors pen deer NEVER drop at the same time, and they live under the same conditions. He had one 9pt drop at Christmas this year, and 3 of his big bucks are still packing.

Ya we are seeing a few deer still packin here which is a little strange but what can ya do. Elk will probably pack at least a few weeks yet but usually all the bucks have dropped em by now.
