Shot 1 huge doe on the second day of archery season in Vermont, then passed on many other does and a spike later in the archery hoping for something bigger. Got a spike on the first day of rifle too....was going to pass but it was walking towards another guy that I know would have shot him. I actually had a pretty good season but I was on farmland (denser population) and I spent a lot of time scouting, I knew exactly where they were going to be.

I missed a nice 6 pointer from about 60 yards max in central NH... There isn't a day that goes by that I don't curse myself for that mistake. This deer was cleaned, butchered and in the freezer before I came close to pulling the trigger. I totally deserved it, but it won't certainly happen again if the opportunity is there.

There were no fresh acorns, but still some horny bucks looking for action. I saw considerable evidence. Can't wait to go back and look for some sheds.

Good luck

I saw 8 deer in MA w/ the bow. 7 does and 1 small buck (spike or fork). Never got a shot at any of them. I shot a 4 pointer w/ the shotgun and wounded a doe. I saw 15 or so doe where I had been seeing a big bug, so I passed to wait on him and then I never saw another deer after that!
I did alot of driving for my hunting party after I shot my buck... My father in law took a spike & a doe, another guy got a spike, and another a doe in one area. My brother in law took a nice doe (164lb) w/ the muzzleloader and a friend took 2 nice doe that same drive (130 & 134) w/ the muzzleloader.
We had some action w/ the guns this year, but bow was awful.
