i love illinois, i rarely go out during the rut and see less than double digits, and thats in wooded area, not huge fields.

Plus we get big bodied deer here too, wont get that in the south.
good climate plus lots of crops makes for alot of nice deer

Not Wisconsin!! We have nothing but scrawny little deer with no head gear!

I'm votin' for Alabama, its cheaper for me to hunt there than it is at home, and the State is complainin' that the hunters can't keep up with the natural increase. [8D]

I've got no complaints with my state. Abundant deer, nice ages, nice racks.

For the biggest racks check B&C records. For overall hunting I think Connecticut is up there. All the serious hunters get a half dozen deer or much more each year. Plenty of untouched public land by me. There is a 500 acre public hunt zone ½ mile from my house. I pass the only 2 entrances every day and in three years have only seen two hunters. Plenty of deer there also. Of the dozen or so hunters at home and work that I know they/we average at least an 8 pointer every year along with many others. I am moving to Oregon and will miss this bonanza.
