I once had a doe and twin fawns run and jump over me while I was sitting on the ground. I could have grabbed a leg as they bounded over me. Somebody else had jumped them and they were running scared.

I've pet and played with a deer in my back yard. There was a doe that used to roam my residential neighborhood in the city limits. She was as gentle as could be. Someone must have raised her from when she was really young and then couldn't keep her contained.

My brother and dad caught a fawn one time. I don't remember the details of that story, because I wasn't there when it happened. They let it go. We had enough pets at the time. My dad has been known for trying to raise wild animals at home though. It seems to never work out. He once caught 2 wild hogs (piglets) and tried to raise them in his back yard in Laredo. Another time, we climbed up in our deer stand and found 4-5 young owls. We took one home and tried to feed it and raise it. It just threw up a lot and finally died.

One time while squirrel hunting I was on my knees gutting a tree rat I had JUST shot. I heard something behind me and when I turned to look I was face to face with a 5 point buck! My nose was 4 or 5 inches from the deers! I had just shot my gun not a minute earlier! The buck then leaned even closer sniffing me! I thought it was going to bite me!!! I stood up and jumped back a step or two and the buck just turned and walked away! Deep in the rut that boy was! I almost found out what a real deer mount was! LOL! I also had 2 does jump over my legs when I was sitting/sleeping along a stone wall!

When I was young my father and myself were walking through the tall grass on his property in Northern Michigan and we came upon a fawn the was just born. Still soakin wet and the momma ran only a few yards and watched us check her fawn out! Pretty cool, we walked off and left them be!

Years ago when I still did some backpacking. I was laying in my sleeping bag under the stars and a young black bear walked up about 4 inches from my face and gave me a sniff before walking off. The same one then walked right over my brother on the way out. We had seen this young bear when we set camp that night. . it was clear this was his first summer on his own.

Can't get any closer then this! My buddy Dennis and I were driving a super thick briar patch with about 5 or 6 other drivers. This stuff was as nasty as cover gets! Anyway about 20-30 yards in I hear something ripping through the briars towards me. A doe with was running back through the drive with her head turned completly backwards! I guess to protect her eyes and face from the briars. She ran right pass me. I yelled over to my buddy Dennis "Did you see that?!" But no answer and I couldn't see his orange hat anymore. Then I heard a muffled laugh and weasing noises! A different doe running with it's head turned back plowed right into Dennis knocking him back into the briars! It knocked the air out of him, sent his gun flying and got him all wrapped up in the briars! I asked what happened and his answer was "I think I just met Lawrence Taylor from the NY Giants!" It was a crazy day!!!! He was sore for weeks! LOL!!!! Can't get any closer then that! I hope I never get that close!

Once I was fishing for catfish at a Maryland pond .After getting so bored waiting for bites in the afternoon I began immitating bull frog sounds. I did this for about 1'2 hour or so. All of a sudden something came tearing out of the brush in back of me. I looked up and was nearly kicked in the face by a doe. I had been laying on my back so the deer didn't see me. Totally freaked me out. Must of thought I was a fawn.
