If you still want to own a gun and enjoy the outdoors when you're older, you should definitely join the NRA now. As far as events and activities that you could enjoy as a member, you would have to contact them. The cost of joining is $25, which is $10 cheaper than the regular annual dues.

I've been a member since I was 8. I've gotten to compete in Junior position matches until I went over the hill at 14 and couldn't see good enough any more. I got 57 years of American Rifleman magazine, drive up entrance and camping at Whittington Center. And tons of propaganda, that I wanted to read.

The right to own a gun and hunt. I'm not a member of the NRA, but plan to join soon.

What you primarily get is the support of the largest pro-gun machine there is looking out for your Second Ammendment rights 27-7 , that alone is worth the dues you pay . Their incessant whining for money is somewhat annoying , but you get a lot in retunr .

If you are a rifleman . . . don't you think you ought to belong to the National Rifle Association?

You get a magazine -- American Rifleman focuses on gun facts, reviews, information while American Hunter focuses on hunting -- and the very substantial resources of the NRA fighting to defend your gun rights. This fight takes the form of very actively supporting candidates for office, exposing the gun related positions of politicians to public view so we can vote for or against candidates based on their gun views.

I highly recommend joining the NRA.
