Wouldn’t shoot either if wanting meat, take a doe instead.
Let the little spike have a chance to grow up some.
If your from Oklahoma you know we have such a over population of does. That’s why we have 2 extra gun seasons for does only plus an extra 15 days of archery also plus they don’t count against your yearly total deer harvest. It is like shooting free deer. If people don’t quit shooting all the little spikes and yearling bucks we will only be able to harvest 2 bucks in the future. The state dept of wildlife is considering that for an option to raise the buck – doe ratio.
