More shoots heard in the morning by me when I am hunting public. So I would have to say mornings.

Depends on the phases of the moon. I actually prefer morning deer hunts, becuase if you shoot one and have to track it, it is getting lighter and brighter outside. Same thing makes cleaning a little easier. On the other hand, I like setting up in the evening on wheat fields and glassing them over with binoculars. But I usually try to time my activity to coincide with the moon. I like to hunt when the moon is overhead or exactly 12 hours after the moon has been overhead. For about a week, I was seeing the majority of movement from 11 AM to 3 PM.

This season has convinced me. Forget getting up early. Get there about 9am, hunt as long as I can stay on stand. Midday for me.

For me it’s always been in the morning. I normally don’t see much for the evening hunt.
