I know deer hunting season just ended for most of us, so now what do you do? Do you hibernate until next year or do you have other hobbies like me. Personally I'll be doing a little squirell hunting the next couple of weeks and maybe some crappie fishing in the lower Roanoke River in eastern, NC. As soon as spring gets here, I've got a couple of hiking trips in the making either in Shenandoah Nat. Park or the Smokies. Then this summer I hope to do some more fishing on the outer banks of NC.
What about Ya'll, any other plans?

Well I get really bored. Last night I wanted to see if I could improve my Stealth Cam. I'm tired of going thru (8) AA batteries every week. I figured I should be able to mod it to use a 6 volt lantern battery. Good news, it still works but now I figured I'll get about 5-6 weeks out of one lantern battery. (8)AA batteries $5 / (1) 6V Lantern battery $5 do the math.

I stay busy building more stands and box blinds, working on the hunting cabin, in the spring planting food plots etc. I stay busy all year doing something to get ready for the next season so for me the excitement never really ends. I go down to my property each weekend all winter to fill the feeders to help keep the deer alive. Alot of fair weather hunters don't site their guns in until opening day and build their stands opening weekend. For me and probebly others, hunting is a year round thing that is more than just shooting at or harvesting a deer. Thinking about hunting 365 days a year keeps me from going nuts. If you think real hard you too can at this point start working on next season, good luck!

I will be muzzle loader hunting until the end of Jan.
