Scared of the dark?
#61
The worst thing that has ever happened to me in the dark besides falling down, or those dam^ spider webs happened last year during gun season. I had taken my then 6 year old son out with me to a ground blind that afternoon. we stayed for a couple of hours, and he wanted to go to the river, it is about 2 miles from where we camp, so I took him on over to skip rocks, and shoot his bb gun for a while. I was dumb enough not to pay attention to the time and it got dark fast, we headed back to camp in the dark, and I wound up hiking almost the whole way with a 6 year old on my back, with a almost fatal choke hold on me saying hurry daddy the whole way.

OG,
It looks by the properties that you tried to post a pic from your computer. You need to load the picture to a web server and post the link from the server.
To see what I mean right mouse click on one of your links boxes with red X and select properties and look at the URL address. It looks like this "file:///C:/WINNT/Profiles/DAVID2000/Desktop/David%20s-snake%5B3%5D.JPG" Now the one Carpetguy posted looks like this http://www.hunting-pictures.com/memb...etguy/Skel.jpg
Notice yours is "file", his is "http" at the begining.
Hope this helps
Greg

Not a problem OG!
Thanks Deerdust also That is a GREAT rattler!
Did you have him tanned and on your wall or turned into a belt or hat band?
I agree though I wouldn't want to step on him <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
Good Luck this fall!

I agree with you too Amos, I would rather see the coyotes i saw glaring at me from 15 yds than step across this fellow any day.<img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_dead.gif border=0 align=middle>

deerdust & amosgreg I appreciate the help with the picture.
I shot this snake about 30 minutes before this picture was taken in our camp. We were sitting around camp trying to shoot a dove or two mainly relaxing after spending all day working around the lease we have, this will explain the dirt from head to toe on me. I had just shot a dove and looked down for the shell casing when I saw him laying about 10 yards away. We skinned this snake approximately 3 hours after this picture was taken and the thing was still moving around a little. We skinned, gutted and beheaded this snake in preparation of cooking him, my fifteen year old son layed the long white piece of meat on the table to be seasoned and the thing started moving around and the end where his head once was raised up of the table and it actually recoiled like it was going to strike. I got a video of it just in time it is pretty freaky how these things still move around even after the skin and everything is removed. So if your ever shoot one you must still be careful unitl you get the head completly off it.
The snake was 4 feet 2 inches and had 12 buttons on his rattle, and yes he is being tanned and will be put on the wall.
Thanks again for the help with the pic
cya down the road OG
