Roger, I started using the muck boots this year. They are the best cold weather boots I've ever used, much better that Sorels. They aren't as bulky as Sorels, so it's easier to slip my foot into the straps on my climbing stand. The mid-calf height is perfect for late fall hunts when there is standing water in the woods I hunt.
I got the Artic Sport boot. It's the same as the Woody Max but without the camo and about $25 less expensive.
My brother owns a marine construction business in Maine. Muck boots are what he wears on his feet when he's on the barge ankle deep in saltwater in February.

The muck boots he is referring to are a brand, not the old military type.
I have a pair of the Woody Max.
Hands down, the best boot I have ever hunted in. I have to add, that I have not been out in weather colder than 25 degrees, so have to hold that in reserve. I wear a pair of wicking sox as a bottom layer and a pair of wool sox. My feet have never been dryer or warmer.
Money well spent.
