Hey quiksilver, sounds to me like you're one of the few sane guys in this thread. All the "hang 'em high" rhetoric is a litttle too much for this hunter and Northeast liberal.

Funny how some arch-conservative types are convinced that govenment is corrupt from the local planning board up to the President, but they are willing to suspend our constitutional rights and let the same government be judge, jury, and executioner when it suits their needs or perceptions.

And yeah, just like everything else in this country, race seems to be playing a role in the way people perceive and discuss this.

Adversity and tragedy tends to strengthen my liberal views and my position that the rights of the accused be protected. Of the original ten amendments to the Bill of Rights, 5 explicitly speak to the rights of the accused. I feel that, given the level of attention our forefathers paid to this notion, it is imperative to uphold said freedoms.
