Awesome deer. I'm a big fan of those dark VA antlers! He'll make a sweet mount.

Nice buck!! I was invited to hunt that early ML several years ago and found it to be a great time. Hunted way down south near the NC border near a town called South Boston.

South Boston, I know where that is.

Oneshot, I'm using CVA's power belt slugs. I normally wouldn't spend that kind of money but CVA sent me a couple boxes when my firing pin spring broke last hunting season during the first year I had the gun. They also sent me two springs free. Great gun for a low price. Had it sighted in within 3-4 shots. The load I shot him with had been in the gun for 3 days and fired instantly. (I know I'll catch flack for saying that but I found if you leave a gun in the outdoor temp and don't take it in and out of warm moist areas that it will stay dry and fire after many days) The bullet put quite the hole in him, but at 20 feet just about any bullet would.

As far as the dark rack, yeah it is and it made it hard to tell he was a buck and how big until he stepped out about 20 feet from my stand. It took less than a second to decide he was a shooter though.
