Default I was so mad/question

went yesterday afternoon for the evening hunt, saw 14 does and one spike. got back to the truck and there in the dark, was a really nice 3x3 about 22-24 inches wide and real heavy antlers. it just made me sick.

I do have a question though, The deer have been moving later than normal this season ,just before dark and after dark. could it be that its still warm during the day, 85-91 degrees. in my way of thinking, they're staying bedded down because of the heat. theres no moon or very little. do you think when it cools off they will move earlier?or later in the morning??

Well myself i wouldn't ponder the situation too long. Hard to understand why they do the things they do, but you can react and addapt to them. You say they are bedded longer and moving out too feed later. I have this problem each year also. Find the main trail from the bedding ------> feeding area and hang a stand further back on it. They should leave their beds before dark and start heading to feed, and you will be there waiting to intercept. If they are coming in and its still to dark then maybe move the stand back another 100-200 yards or so. Good Luck to ya........

They move during the day all sumer long (some days) regardless of the heat so that is not the reason. I have heard it suggested, that at least here in GA, due to a heavy Acorn crop, they just don't have to move as much to feed.
