I have a Ruger M77 stainless barrel and synthetic stock. I have it in 30-06 and I love it. Best rifle I have ever owned.

I would agree with your choice of a 270. You can't buy a finer deer caliber. I have heard good things about both the Ruger and the Browing. Don't know about the Tikka.

I would agree with sour. If you can afford a stainless, go for it. I had to have one reblued one time after a week of wet hunting. It was almost $200

Actually I would recommend a stainless with a BOSS. Pricey, but worth it in the long run. Decisions, decisions!

I bought the Sako Tikka bolt action two years ago and I love it. I've killed three deer and one hog. My gun has the synthetic stock, SS barrel & reciever. The action is smooth and easy to work. If your gonna spend big money on the gun, don't skimp on the scope. I've got Leupold 3X9 SS on mine and I had the gun sighted in after just six shots.

Those Rugers usually shoot good, but I absolutely hate that "new" safety. The Browning is a quality firearm....I've got a few of them. Accurate and with one of the best factory triggers too.

Any of the three would be great choices. I have a synthetic, stainless steel Ruger M77 in 30-06 and I love it. Try them all and get the one that feels the best. If you get the Ruger plan on spending about 35 bucks getting a competent gunsmith to do some trigger work for you.

I'd go Tikka, my Synthetic/Stainless .308 is a nail driver, action is smooooth, and its a nice looking gun.
The only con that I can think of with the Tikka are the expensive plastic magazines.

GO FOR THE RUGER M77, I HAVE SEEN THEM IN LEFT HANDED MODELS, I'M LEFT HANDED ALSO, SO THAT IS WHY I WAS LOOKING, THE ONE I SAW WAS A RUGER 300 MAG, LEFTHAND VERSION, INCLUDED SCOPE RINGS FOR 405 BUCKS. I DIDN'T HAVE THE MONEY AT THE TIME BUT THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD DEAL
