I have a .243 win. I have shot 3 bucks with it and 3 does. The 3 bucks and one doe dropped where they stood. The other 2 does went about 15 yards and stopped so I shot them again and they dropped. I didn't backtrack the first one so I didn't check the blood trail but the other one left a heavy blood trail. The bullet blew through her. I love the gun.

.243 my most favorable rifle to hunt deer with. I've killed more CA and ID mule deer (some white tails too) with that caliber than any other load. I've also killed a wild boar with one shot (Winchester super-X 100gr SP). Right into the "sweet spot", taking out a lung and the heart. Lots of mush/pulp internally with that bullet.

30-30, several mule deer within 100yds, and 3 black bears. All using Remington 170gr SP core-lokts.

270, several deer, 1 black bear, 1 elk, and 2 pronghorn antelope. I also brought it with me to south america as a back up gun on a red deer hunt. (primary gun for that trip was a .300win mag).

Don't own any 7mm's in my collection. ONe day I will. Just got other guns I NEED first... <img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>

7mm-08 I refuse to own any 7mm period.

My son shoots a 7mm08- shot mule deer and whitetail deer with it.
243- shot whitetails and antelope
270- shot whitetails, muleys, elk and antelope.
