what did you kill your first deer with?
 

i was wondering what caliber and gun everyone killed there first deer with. and was the deer a doe or buck?

mine was a 280 remington BDL and i shot a big doe at about 80 yards

I took my first deer with a 30-30 w/ a 4x Tasco. Took a doe and a 4pt about 2 minutes apart.

Winchester 308. lever action, borrowed from a friend I was hunting with. At the time all I had was a 12ga. and he shot his buck around lunch and he took me to a field we had seen some deer in and let me use his .308 and I shot a small doe not much bigger then a dog But I sure was proud!

My first was a spike buck taken with a 6MM at about 110 yards. One of the happiest days of my life.

73 ford bronco with a 302 and three on the tree:D j/k, i got lucky, 9pt 15" spread dressed 140+ with a marlin 30-30 i was 12 years old, you'll forget alot of things but i bet it wont be your first deer

20 gauge shotgun three years ago. shot a doe at doe yards. dropped her in her tracks:D

I was 13, and shot a wounded fawn at 15 yards with a 12gauage and slug.

i was a bit older than most first time hunters, 33 yrs old but had never gone and found i loved it!

Winchester 670 30-06 with an old Bushnell 4x, Federal 165 gr. North Texas 6 point. Had a nice trigger and floated the barrel, nice shooter. Wish I still had it....

I took my first five deer with a Remington 223.Never shot at one I didn't kill with 1 shot with that rifle.Moved up to a 7 mm mag now.

T/C Hawken .50 Cal. Was a pretty long shot, and I hit the mid-sized doe through the base of the neck. I was 10, I think.

shot a 4 point with a 12 ga sears ted williams model i was 12 years old got the gun for my birthday hit it with 3 loads of 00 buck still have the gun and soon my grandson will use it

a marlin 30-30 w/ 150 grain bullets @ 35 yards through the thickest brush you can imagine, i was so excited to be able to shoot at my first deer that i must have had the scope too close to my eye and it split my eye brow wide open.........but of course i didn't feal a thing!! it was a pretty good size doe.

Stevens 20 gauge single shot with a Remington Slugger. That was 28 years ago.

A 14" wide 7 point with a 300 savage, 150 grain core-lokt at 50 yards, I was 14 years old(min age in michigan)

well, since i just started deer hunting last year, my first deer was yesterday on opening season(bow) here in ohio.....so the weapon i used for first deer was a crossbow.......and BTW, i used the scent killer that is on this site somewhere.......oh, when i get pic back , i will post it here....nice 8 pointer.....

My first deer was a button buck i shot it with my Savage Model 10 223REM. 85yd lung shot dropped him on the spot like every deer i have shot with the 223.

A doe with my grandfather's 1947 Model 12 WINCHESTER 16 g. Hit the vitals with a slug at 75 yds -- bead sight.

30-30 savage that i borrowed from my dad, shot an 8 pointer, i was 12 at the time.

My first deer was a doe. I shot it with a Mossberg 500 12ga. First with buck shot, then a slug. I also took my first buck with the same shotgun. Now I'm partial to my Winchester model 70 .30-06 although this year I plan to use my coyote set-up for deer - a Remington 700 .243

Remington 1100 semi 12 guage with 00 buck. 4 pt buck shot at 20 yds, dressed out at 137 lbs.

Rem. model 7 .243 w/ Redfield 4x scope - shot a doe at about 75-100 yds. on my 12th or 13th birthday. I still use that gun. Except I put a new scope on it.

Mid size doe 60 yards with a 7.62x39 Russian SKS one shot dropped her in her tracks.

It was two years ago and I'll never forget it. I was 26 and am now hooked for life. Sitting in a tree stand in W Central MN snowing to beat hell and waiting and waiting. Finally broke a golden rule and lit up a ciggy. Wouldn't you know it a doe jumps the fence from the field right into the woods where I was at. Coming straight at me about 80-90 yds in front of me. Threw the cig in my mouth released the saftey, she ran up to 30 yds directly at 12:00 then broke to my left and gave me a beautiful broadside at about 20-30 yds. What a RUSH>

Ohh by the way I was using a WIN .308 w/165 grain and a leopold .3/4-5 x variable scope.

Remington 1100, 12 ga. (inherited from grandfather). Third day of the season, ground hunting on a very, very cold morning, four years ago. At about 8:20 AM, a 6-point and a doe stopped in front of me to graze at about 60 yds.

i took a neck shot on the buck using the iron sights. The air was so cold that the vapor from the shot lasted a good 2-3 seconds. When I could see down range, I saw the doe standing there, looking around. I thought the buck had run off. I was half way to her before the doe finally ran, and I saw the buck laying there. I could have had two if I'd had a DMP that year.

My first deer was an 8 point that I shot with an old conventional style 50 cal. Muzzleloader when I was 13.

I took my first deer a doe with my grandfathers 1894 32-40.It was november 1962 . My grandfather gave me that rifle on christmas of the same year.I still have it.

My first deer was a button buck taken with a mossburg 12 ga. Half a dozen years and numerous other buttons and does later, I took up bowhunting and learned how to kill bucks also.

I took 3 bucks with a bow before I ever got one with my shotgun.
