i could change jobs and make approx 30k more per year. but i would not be able to hunt 60 days a year either. so that is the trade off. call me crazy, but i love being able to hunt 60 days a year. i look at like this(to my wife, ANYWAY ) i dont drink, do drugs, or anything so you can call my obsession w/ whitetails a VICE.

right now work is pretty much consuming my life, i thought when i started my own business it would be fantastic..........but it's not. i work more now than i ever did when i was working for someone else. i love to hunt, hate to work, but my priorities need taken care of first.

I'll have to admit that I spend a lot of time thinking about, reading about, and planning hunts, but it is only for a couple of months in the fall, and then I only spend a week or so hunting - some few days bird hunting and some few days either deer or moose hunting (rarely both).
But when it comes down to it, it's just one of many outdoor and indoor hobbies I have and doesn't take up any more thought or effort than others, actually 3rd or 4th on the list after xc skiing, general boating (float and motor), hiking, and music.
I do love deer hunting and moose hunting, but the end goal is the venison and although I really enjoy the time in the woods doing that, I end up making it as efficient as possible since I have so many other things I love to spend time and $$ on!

Obsessed with hunting....LOL. The only time I don't think of hunting is when I'm fishing. But then if I see a flock of geese or a raft of dive ducks on the lake, then I'm thinking hunting again. I hunt year around. If it isn't varmint or predator's, then it's turkey hunting. Then I a knock on the door to the woodchucks all summer. Then small game starts. It never ends. AND I LOVE IT!!!
