Really really really close pics of deer ;)
 
Heeeeeeeerrrrrreeee's Danny......
He lost his momma, died soon after giving birth, we bottle fed him.
He was born this Spring.

Cool pics. If Danny was born this spring, wouldn't he be a button buck? Why such a large rack for a buck born this spring?

nice pics sunset, great pic of "hot shot" and friend, jimbo hunter danny looks like that for the same reason hot shot and friend look different, genetics, and when it was born, early/late, being a first year buck dosen't mean it'll be a button..;)

There are several factors that make up the growth of antlers. I suspect, he is on a good diet, and had decent genetics. I have seen young deer with fairly large racks, it is not uncommon if the conditions are met.

there ya go....very true
I knew that at times, four month old bucks might sprout some three or four inch spikes. I just had no idea that they could be fork horns or six points until they've lived for at least a year. We never stop learning, do we? :)

No we don't. that's why I'm about ask this question. Once a buck, young or old, sheds his rack and a fresh one begins to grow, does it ever stop growing or does it keep on until shed time comes 'round again?
