Default Up the creek without a truck!

I've been screwed... I sold my '91 S-10 at a cheap price due to engine trouble. I sold it for the sole purpose of buying my brother-in-law's 4x4 Toyota and in return he was going to buy a new truck. But, he couldn't buy one without some up-front money. Therefore, I sold my truck to give him the up-front money for his truck.

I'm gone for the weekend to prepare for the opening weekend archery hunt with my uncle back in my home town. When I return my brother-in-law decides that he does not want to sale the 'yota and buy a new truck. So now I'm stuck without a truck. My around town vehicle is a grocery getter, not very woods worthy.

I'm now looking into buying an ATV and trailor and pulling it with my wife's trailblazer. I figure this way I still can get in and out of the woods and not have to pay tag fees or insurance on another vehicle.

Has anything like this ever happened to any of you and what did you do or am I the only idiot in the group?

I guess I'll have to look into that, but I don't think it has to be registered if it is not a road running vehicle.

David,

You got screwed for sure. It's always the ones closest to you, isn't it.

I'd look into reg and insurance after I beat the *&^% out of my brother-in-law!

I think that I would explain to the Brother-In -Law what a bind he put me in and see if he would switch cars with you when you go hunting. I'm sure that he would not mind driving your car a few times. If not, maybe you have a friend who does not hunt and has a truck. They might switch with you for a while. Good luck. If this does not work, I would let my Brother-In-Law know that your pissed and going to make his life suck until you get a truck.

Does your wife's blazer have a hidden or reese hitch? If so you can get a game carrier or better yet have one made to fit the hitch pretty reasonably. Now if you need a way to get in to the woods from where you park. Do you own or can borrow a mountain bike? If so strap the bike onto the game carrier and off to the woods you go. Getting the animal out a plastic sled from wally world or golf bag cart adapted would most likely be all you need. This is the cheap version.

Of course either buying the ATV/Trailer or a truck would also work.
