You got a main frame 6 pt. out to his ears, sits high off his head, not a lot of girth but a real nice deer. Now you know this deer is 3 yrs old because he has a patch of white off to the left side of his chest. You have watched this deer go from a 5 inch spike to a small six and now a massive six. DO YOU SHOOT ?????????

Nope. . .must be 8pt or better and that rack must be out past his ears. That's the minimum we shoot where I hunt. If you want bigger bucks don't shoot the youngsters. I am lucky to be in central Texas where we get 5 tags a year, 2 bucks and 3 does. So I can afford to wait and have minimum requirements.
I know some of you are lucky to get a single tag and then you gotta fight it out with all the crazies on public land. Under those conditons anything with out blaze orange might end up in a feezer.

I leave Dinks like that for my buddies...............

I guess it comes down to what you're looking for. If you're trying to grow trophies let him walk to another year. If you're content shooting a good six that's fine too. If it were me I'd pass. I've seen bigger on my stealthcam and know they'll be back
around.
