troutdude,
I went to Canada and loved it. I was in the Thousand Islands for a week and at Niagra for another week.
Anyway, I don't know what is a 303 Brittish but I find that Bushnell scopes are relatives low cost and perform very well. They are not a Nikon or some of the higher end scopes, but they still perform very well for the money.
You will not go wrong with one.

Yeah, I like bushnell for the money. A Banner dusk to dawn, 1.5 - 4.5 x costs around 75 -75 American. Does that figure out to near 100 Canadian?
Another option is look in the used scope rack at a gun shop.

I would try for a good used scope. I don't have any interest in the lower end quality of scopes. If your local gun shops or pawn shops don't have what you need look in the hunting/optics section of E-Bay and see if you have some luck.

I hope you’re not disappointed in that 303 British. It might not be the fastest and the most powerful cartridge but it will do the job.
If you could get a little more cash, take a look at the Bushnell Trophy 3-9x40mm. The optics are excellent for that price range. The Bushnell Dusk to Dawn 1.5-4.5 x 32 mm would also be a good choice for the price range although I have never looked thru them. You might also look at getting a fixed 4x scope. Good luck in your purchase.
