Default Slip-shucked City Slickers!

I saw on last nights news that a town in New Jersey was having deer contol problems! On one hand they are hilariously funny, on the other their stupidity is aggravating!
They have so many deer in the area that they are a big problem. They say they have tried everything from ignoring the problem to contraceptives! Now they have hired a company to come in at night and thin out the deer. This town is PAYING someone to come in and shoot deer! Man, are they getting a good slip-shucking! Don't they realize that bow hunters would buy licences and pay our own way to really "hunt" these deer, instead of them paying an "exterminating company" to do it!!!????
Oh well, I guess the more they pay for "exterminations", the less money these anti-hunting morons will have to fight against us hunters and gun owners!

yes and the money we pay for licences supports deer management . wish they would ask hunters for our input but they seldom do <img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>

That happened here in Texas a few years ago. Instead of letting the hunters buy permits and hunt the deer, they hired a outside group to come in and harvest the over populated deer. Instead of the state making money they spent money.

Frank, I think the town you refer to is Princeton. It's an area around the college with BIG money people. There are many estates - farms with HUGE bucks on 'em. They haven't allowed hunting in years. Now there are so many deer being hit by buffy in his lexus they have paid a sharpshooter to come in and shoot deer at night over baits. These are the same people that say hunting is barbarick. Go figure.

This is one instance where hunters should sue for the right to legally harvest these deer.

They had this same issue in Michigan. All the metro parks was loaded with deer. They had the same discussion about letting hunters go in or paying for a sharp shooter. They even had town meetings with hunters to get ideas. In the end they hired a sharp shooter to solve the problem. The ligistics of trying to organize hunting was too great and too costly even if the hunters were paying to do it.

Ah yes,,,Princeton, NJ...Residents will not allow bow hunters to cull the herd. It was banned sometime ago. They decided to hire White Buffalo of Conn. to bring down a few hundred animals..I believe at $300 an animal. After court battles with the Anti's a judge stepped in and allowed the shooting..More wasted tax dollars. It seems to me that our Fish and Game Dept just turned their backs to this. It would be nice if the had the balls to step in and set it straight...It sometimes seems that anti's or non-hunters make all the decisions... The only good out of this is that the venison is processed and donated to soup kitchens..

I would be willing to shoot them for free, buy a special license, and donate the venison as well...So whats the problem Princeton? Idiots.....
