Poll: Which Would You Choose?
 

Poll:
Never mind where you got the money from or how you are going to get there, all four are attainable for you and are in preium remote locations with or without guides as you choose. However, you are limited to just one hunt, which would you take? The downside for this windfall hunt is you don't get to do any other "supplemental hunting" around home during the upcoming year. This will be "it" for 2004.

Which Would You Choose?

2. Trophy Whitetail
3. Trophy Mulie
4. Trophy Bull Elk

Wow!! That is a dang tough question to answer. Especially if that's the ONLY hunting you could do this year!! I have never hunted for mulies, moose or elk....so I think I'd pick one of those. But then again, whitetails are my passion. So....... To be honest, I can't really pick. A trophy in each one of those categories would be awesome and with a trophy head on my wall to boot. I don't think a guy could go wrong with any one of the 4. But really to honest, I think I'd save up my own $$ and pay for it myself to be able to hunt the rest of the season besides that one hunt. I'd go nuts if I couldn't hunt all fall. :D

Easy as pie - Whitetail that I scouted

The others would be cool as an aditional hunt - But they cannot compare to what I do here.

If I was only able to hunt one species for the entire year it would be Whitetails. Thank god I live in an area that hunting all the game you mentioned is possible each year;). While I still have to choose which ones I am going to pursue, the Trophy Whitetail Deer is a given and takes up the bulk of my time/effort each fall.

I'm a whitetail fanatic but i'd take a year off to hunt elk. no guides no fences I'm not going to shoot pets. during the rut 1 of those big boys up close would be awsome.

I have always wanted to hunt moose, having a trophy whitetail would be nice but a big moose mounted on the wall would be real nice. My second choice would be a mullie

I'd choose the elk. I've never hunted any of the others, just elk and blacktails. But I can't imagine anything better than bull elk season. I wouldn't trade it for anything!

No sale here. I enjoy my from home hunts too much to trade them off for just two weeks of hunting a trophy. I hunt waterfowl,moose and deer from home. Not to mention the spring turkey season. I couldn't give that up for just one hunt. I bow hunt, rifle hunt and ML for white tail then there is small game. I chase swamp bunnies with my beagles during the winter. If I had only one trophy hunt, I would be like a junkie looking for a fix every time I saw some wild life.:D

Wow tough question. I love my whitetail hunts couldn't live without that. Mulies I've also hunted. If I had to choose I'd have to take the moose.

Now I'm talking archery not rifle here.
I hunt Whitetail and moose here and just love them both, nothing like the feeling of a 1200lb moose walking in on you ,I'll tell you a moose for his size certainly can catch you by surprise with just how quiet this big giant can be.Talk about shaking in your boot's! we took a 1200lber last season at 5yrds ,now that's close .I love the Whitetail as well, but I'd have to say a dream hunt would definetly have to be archery Elk for sure .

#2 Whitetail, no question about it. My brother inlaw and I have talked about this before. I'd rather shoot a big whitetail over anything else.

Moose. But when it came right down to it I would have a hard time giving up my other hunting for the year as our deer hunting trip back home to SD is also part of the wife and I's vacation each year. Maybe for one year though.:D

I've always wanted to hunt a trophy mule deer. I can hunt a whitetail anytime and I don't have a wall big enough to hang a trophy elk or moose.

Trophy elk. I've never had a chance to hunt elk and it sounds like it would be awesome. Maybe one day :)

ELKampMaster-I guess I'll vote again :-) Still the same though, it would have to be a big Yukon bull moose.

I, like others here have a real pasion for the whitetail, and I think it may have been rack-attack who said scouting like he does it (or something like that) is #1. Again, I too hunt in extremely remote areas of our state and patterning a big bruiser is awesome, but until you have a bull elk screaming at you, you have never felt your hair stand on your neck like that moment in time! Been there done it (and can't wait for my late season hunt this year) but I have such a passion to take a "big" bull moose some day....and I mean a true 65"+ bull, he would have to get my vote!

can we breed a moose with a elk? I'll take that a mooselk. I have hunted mulies and whitetails, I have been putting in for the elk in PA and will put in for moose in Maine.. Wait I know I would pick Buffalo.

do i have the option of declining the trophy hunt? i cant see giving up year of hunting (whitetails, turkeys, quail, pheasants, mushrooms, coyotes, sheds) for one hunt.

if i didnt have to give up a year to get it, id have to flip a coin between moose or elk.

I would have to choose whitetail for sure. Theres nothing like seeing that rack come threw the woods at you. I have already taged a 140 class a 150 class and now i want a boone and crooket buck.

My fiance said that there was no more room for on the wall for anothe whitetail.....so let's 'assume' I take her seriously I think I'd have to go for the Moose, just to have a HUGE head up on the wall. That would eat her up!!!!

I think for a whole season though I'd have to go with Elk. I'm with Stump_MN_Hunter, haven't hunted Elk, Moose or Mulies and whitetails are my passion.

So far I've been lucky enough to take a trophy bull elk and numerous whitetails a couple of which I would consider trophies. I think of the four listed I'd have to choose a trophy bull moose.

I would have to say a trophy elk. I have always dreamed of going on an elk hunt and hope to do so some day. Elk hunting has been a dream of mine.

hands down whitetail asmuch as i would love a moose or elk it would be like a two week hunt at the longest adn that is not enough time int he woods for me for the fall time and it wouldn't be teh same cause i wouldn't have done any of the scouting where as for whitetail i do it all

Toss a coin between Moose and Elk. I can hunt whitetails at home next year. Elk or Moose would be once in a lifetime most likely.

definitely trophy whitetails. never really hunted the others but whitetails are my passion so definitely whitetails.

Hmmmm... I don't think I've ever come across a question that is this hard to answer. You wouldn't be able to hunt ANYTHING the rest of the year? Okay, this may come as a shock to everyone so put your drink down: I think I'd pass on all of them. I'd rather be able to hunt throughout the entire year, taking several "less-than-trophy" animals. I put in a lot of hard hours at work and I like to know that I have a lot of weekends where I can just pack up the back end of the truck, kiss my wife and baby boy good-bye, and head out for a weekend hunt. When my son is older, I'm looking for a lot of quality time on the weekends with him. If however, I HAD to choose one of those hunts, (example: If I were to hear, "We at the Minnesota DNR have decided to close all hunting seasons for one year.") I think I would take a trophy moose hunt, with a bow. I'd love to snag a big ol' 70+" Alaskan Bull!

Have to choose Elk, Mulie as Runner-up, Whitetail, and Moose a very distant 4th, never had an urge to hunt Moose.
