ANOTHER newbie post
Sorry guys, I'm sure you get sick of these but here I go:
what kind of bullet do you think I should use for my .308? I'll be using an AR-10. Don't have the time or the equipment to handload so it's gotta be store bought. I've heard that blackhills and hornady are good rounds...for tactical rounds anyway, are they good for deer and such as well? Besides scouring the forum threads, where is a good place to get some good hunting edge-jah-muh-kay-shun? General knowledge type stuff? I also need to find a good place to review local hunting laws? Any place on the web for that? (florida and georgia in particular).
Thanks, and any advice or tips you want to offer would be appreciated.

Welcome to the boards Leo! You'll have to try out different brands and see which one your gun likes best! I usually use something in 150 or 165 gr. in my .308. For deer a good JSP, Partitioner or Ballistic Tip will do the trick! My .308 likes the Hornady Customs. Federal Preamies would be a good choice too. Don't overlook the plain old Core-Loct Remingtons though, my 7MM RM likes them as well, or better than the expensive stuff!
As for finding good info, you are in a darn good place right here! Also, just do a search for your particular states wildlife department, if your states site is as good as the one I've seen for Texas, you will find tons of information and links to other sites there as well! Again, welcome to the boards, and good luck!

I don't but much factory ammo but lately I have come to like the Federal Premiums loaded with the 150 grain Nosler Partition. Also welcome to the forum. Its good to have another voice to talk deer hunting.

Leo welcome aboard! You can learn alot just browsing thru this site. Most folks in here are more than willing to throw their two cents in on any question that you have so fire away. You can usually get a general consensus on your question and every once in awhile (rarely) people actually agree!
