its 3.8x12 for georgia 100 yrds want it on the money, when i go to texas i want it 1 inch high at 100, so at 200 i am perfect and at 250 still right there, of course alot of it has to do with gun and barrell also

Say a 3.8x12 at 100 yards on 8 power is dead on. Then if you turn it up to 12 and it is still dead on, doesn't matter the brand, that is a great scope.

I've seen scopes at full power throw the bullet off 1/4 inch or more.

I first noticed it with my Tasco World Class. Sighted in at 100yds on 12 power dead on. Then shot it at 8 power at 100yds and it was off about 1/4 inch.

dang 1/4 inch hard to tell that it is the scope couldnt you have pulled it a tad

Probably. But turned back up to 12 and it hit the same hole.

Plus I was shooting out of a vise.

If I were going to buy one gun for deer & larger game such as elk & bear I would buy the 300-win mag.
I bought a 300-win mag when I turned 18-years old & I hunted everything with it for 16-years. I think it was the best purchase I have ever made. I have killed Antelope, Whitetail, Mule Deer, Elk & Black Bear with my 300-win mag. I never felt under gunned.:)

Groundhunter if you dont believe us go to remington website of winchester and look at the ballistcs on the two, that is where you will get the facts you want not just other hunters opinions
