Excellence choice, I must say. Yeah, the 180 gr. cartridges are a bit much, but you've got an excellent (and all-important) point about the switching dilemma. Being a new hunter, I stick to the 700 ADL .30-06 with 150 gr. softpoints here in Virginia, and an 870 Wingmaster with 1 oz. rifled slugs in Maryland. Great combination for whitetail.

Shoot, I wish that was the kind of dinks that I got! That is a nice buck by my meat hunting standards. Don't get me wrong, I love the horns to have on the wall, but I like the deer in my belly a lot better!

121553 he may not be a monster, but he is not a dink! Of course being in Montana and seeing some of the deer killed there I guess you could call it a dink! What did he dress out at?

Plinkin a dink. Good dinkin big guy. Most times when we let bucks pass we get a bit remorseful about doing so. It gets a little more so as the days pass and your tag remains in your hip pocket. Been there, many a time but at least you had a real decent looking buck return for his destiny. Nice end to your season.

Not a dink by my standards. Congrats! I'd be real pleased to bag something like that in our woods.
