Heart - best part of the deer. Cube and fry with some onions. Good stuff.

Don't all true hunters take a bite out of the heart when it's plucked from the fresh kill?
thats right badshotbob i think the hard part is the frist bite, mmm the best with a .308 hole in it

I have eaten the deer heart in the past and it was pretty good but haven’t eaten it for quite a while.

I like mine plain and simple. I just boil it till its cooked the whole way through then slice it thin and salt it. I love this stuff.

the heart , lungs and liver along with some back strap go straight into a pot with some veggies and simmered to a wonderfully delectuble dish
Just hunted with an older fella and he shot a doe, he gives the meat away and only keeps the innards. He makes stew.[X(] To each their own. As far as the heart I tried it and was dissapointed , guess I'll just keep on frying and trying .:)

I usually pickle the heart,and it is very good: as for the liver forget it.

Sounds like most of you guys that eat it cover it in so much stuff that you could be eatting someones big toe and still like it. Just cut it out and eat it!:D

the heart is great but the liver-well thats a different story. dont care for it, so i give it to my fatherin law- he loves it.
