Hardluck, you heard it all wrong man. Let me clue you in. It was taken by a 97 year old grandmother, out of a tree blind, using no more than a Toy bow with a suction cup type arrow. I have in on good authority that the arrow merely stunned the deer forcing the lady to jump upon it from her tree stand and impale it with a shapened stick. Due to this amazing accomplisment B&C has decided to open another category in the primitives departmenmt.....Say hello to the NEW world record Typical deer by spear. Rules states that the spear can be no longer than 6 feet long, and 1 1/2 inches wide, and no mechanical devices may be used to throw them.

YL, here is a link provided by a member from Ontario (in the backpages - Post entitled: well here is another possible record per MEZ by AKA)

That thread has been deleted,, because 1 person admitted too poaching!

Here is another link to the same picture,,,, dont bash me for the comments on here,, Its just what happens when a bunch of uneducated people get a hold of a computer!!

Look up the orginal post but it doesn't appear to make it any clearer. one says legit while others and link seem to claim poached. Sorry man it is the best I can do.

I have hunted very close to this area and the individual who has leased land who I hunted with also said that many rumors are flying around. The most consitent one is that yes, it was taken illegally, more like 11:00 PM, not 1/2 hour after shooting time as originally stated. All I can say is that I sure as heck hope this bad boy sired many does and the genes continue!!! One of the leased properties is only a few miles from where it was supposidly shot.

There are some real heavy weights in this area...that is for sure!!!!!

Following quote can be found @ www.boone-crockett.org in the trophy watch section (again not new info, really just FYI)

UPDATE: Unofficial 223+ 199-7/8 green final score – 12 inches of abnormal points plus unmatched 7 inch tine

TrophyWatch has learned from a reliable source that this buck was taken, after legal shooting hours, in Ontario, Canada and was seized by local conservation officers (one of these officers is pictured with the buck). Several have commented that it is too bad a buck of this caliber cannot be recognized by the Boone and Crockett records book because it was taken illegally. This is not entirely true. Although the hunter can never enter the buck because of the records program fair chase requirements, Ontario wildlife officials can enter the buck with the hunter listed as unknown, thereby giving this tremendous deer and Ontario the recognition it deserves.

Pearl Jam, you arn't the only one who doesn't care much how they score. I dont' understand how to score them and don't care enough to learn. I go to art galleries with my wife and I enjoy it. I don't know sh@$#T about art, but when I see a painting or photo or sculpture or whatever that I like, I know I like it. Same with a deer. The ones that impress me impress me. I'm usually more concerned with the circumstances of the kill, the distance of the shot, and how much meat they got out of it.
