i think it will be my 12 mossberg 500 with a rifled slug barrel....got the gun....got the barrel.....i need a replacement small game gun and a scope and all that for the slug gun....i need something for close in and foul weather....i know my shotgun will handle it......i think thats my next deer gun.....but i held a SWEET feeling mauser 98k in 8mm with peep sights and a sweet feeling stock....it fit me like a glove......all the serial numbers match but it was rebarreled i believe......if it had the original barrel it would be mine.......and all the markings were taken off.....i think ill just wait for my next mauser....and build my own..... but man i dont know....if i play with that one again i might walk out with it.......but i think ill go with the 12ga slugger first.....i been wanting a good small game gun.....the mossbergs great but its big and heavy....make a good deer rifle......we will see......

Been shooting my Rem .270 for almost 30 years and it has never failed me. It will probably outlast me.

I have hunted deer with many guns but I have now settled on a couple of customs chambered in 7mmstw.I see no gun or cartridge more suited to my style of hunting so I have no plans on buying any more guns for deer hunting.

There's only one gun I need to complete my personal collection and it's not for deer hunting, it's an over/under 12ga.

A marlin 44 mag rifle was my next choice of deer gun a few years ago. It has been so much fun. I may have to add a revolver now to keep it company

I am quite happy with my current Remington 700 Mountain in 30.06, although it packs a heck of a punch.
I have the 700 ADL synthetic in .30-06; I swear by it. It's a great rifle for the price. It's just under 7½ lbs. and has a 1" recoil pad, so I barely feel the push with 150 gr. Rem factory loads. The Mountain's equally good, but mine already feels really light to me, so I'll stick with it.

Actually, I cannot foresee me getting anothe rifle for deerhunting. However, I may pick up a rifled shotgun barrel to use with my Remington 870 for deer next season.

My next rifle will probably be a Savage 110 in 7mm Rem mag.
