Default A Good Day

Rifle season opened today in N.C. and I took my 9 year old daughter with me hunting for the first time. About 5:30pm two nice does came out and we got to watch them for a few minutes as they ate corn. My daughter was perfect, quiet and really still, it was awesome. I asked her which one she thought was the biggest and thats the one I took. Even though the deer fell where it was shot, it was nearly impossible to get my daughter to wait twenty minutes before getting out of the stand. She helped me load it on the 4Wheeler and then drag it in to the meat plant. I have killed a number of deer, but man that was something special. I have pics coming and will post sometime so everyone can see the smile on my new " huntin buddy' s" face.

awesome - it don' t get better than that...i haven' t taken a daughter hunting (i' m in high school) but i did get to take my sister hunting a couple of years ago...it was too foggy to see anything clearly but we did see two. i didn' t wanna take a risky shot with her around, but it was a lot of fun to spend some time with her

That is what its all about. Its great you got pics even though I doubt she will ever forget it. I make a point of taking my kids every yr. And the memories are as much for me as it is for them lol. Congrats on your great day.

That deffinatly sounds like you two had a great day. CONGRATS, Ive got 4kids, the older two i take when its warm enough for them to go, they love it, (ages 9-7) but so far they really dont care for the cold--esp. when windchill is well below zero. again congrats on your GREAT day !!--will be waiting to c pics, not that she will ever forget it but there graet to have for future, memories of times past. Hope there is many more to come !!!!!!!!!
