RE: World Record Typical
I hate the suspense. I guess I' ll just have to eliminate all the guessing and shoot the record myself in Pennsylvania.

Barnes, I mentioned it on the NT post here, is that where you heard it or elsewhere?? I haven' t heard a peep since monday(gut feeling is close but no cigar). A couple of years ago another outfitter here spit off about shooting the Milo beater turned out to be touch over 200. Great deer but a little premature and to many thumbs to pad the scoresheet!

I think it was your post, Skeeter. I wanted to post it with a catchy subject name to see if anyone else heard about it that might not have read your post. My guess is that it will gross very high but probably fall short due to deductions. There are a lot of bucks that gross higher than Milo' s buck. The Damery Buck that was also shot in 1993 is one of them. It grossed in the 230s but fell short mostly due to forked brow tines.

Barnes I will try and find out something before I take off for Moose/Deer on Sunday am. Jim is doing a talk here on Saturday and 2 of the guys from our group(1 of which is the guy I referred to my original post) are going that night. I suspect similar as you or the old thumb add to the tape measure trick!
DH, my buddy operates a camp right next to the smeaton camp and he has said hunting is picking up nicely with a few great deer on the dirt and been seen. 4th week should be perfect and good luck. Jim is a first class guy and from what I hear his camps are as well.

Here is what I have been told by a reliable source in Saskatoon. There has been an extremely large buck shot; but from the camp next to Jim' s north camp. As I have been told; green score is roughly 2" larger than the record. I have no proof; so until more is heard; consider it myth.
