Question Just a question

I have been hunting deer for many years. Yesterday I took a meat doe and when I field dressed her, her "heart" was not like any I have ever seen. In all of the others I have taken the heart was hard or should I say solid, but this one was very soft and squishy? I have never seen anything like this before. She seemed fine and healthy and the meat looks totally normal. She is at least a three year old doe. Has any one seen this before?

Nope, always been pretty solid and firm.

Yeah really strange - just got done butchering her and she seems fine??? Hell I have been butchering them for 50ish years and never saw anything like it, Oh well it won't bother her anymore, she is in my freezer trying to stay warm, but I don't think it will work out for her LOL Thanks - might be those alien deer I have heard tell of coming to Earth to take over and rule the world ROFL

Any chance a piece of bullet went thru it draining the blood out make it feel more squishy? Or maybe she ran pretty far and just pumped all the blood out before dropping?

I imagine a piece of the bullet could have hit it - I really didn't look, just put it in the bag and got in the fridge to cool - she didn't run at all, she dropped on the spot

I would check to see if there is bullet fragments in it.
