About 5:00 PM, three does obliged me by coming out into soybean stubble thirty yards from where I'd posted up after stillhunting nearby ridges since noon. One shot from a Savage 99 took out the leading doe.
This has turned out to be my most successful deer season ever. My best buck by far on opening day (see the other thread for pics, thanks to Jake), and filled the doe tag, too.
A couple of added bonuses: saw my first bobcat ever in in the wild today as well, and was able to learn where bucks like to bed on the property (and why). That will help in the future.
